The LEGO Group Strikes Gold with ‘The Goonies’...

For its newest LEGO Concepts constructing equipment, the LEGO Group is digging up a treasured movie from the ’80s: The Goonies. 

Submitted by Vaggelis Ntezes, a 3D artist and Fan Designer from Greece, this 2,912-piece set recreates basic scenes from the action-adventure, just like the caves, the Fratellis’ hideaway, One-Eyed Willy’s treasure room, and even a nod to the notorious deleted octopus scene. From dropping boulders with the Copper Bones Skeleton Key to tripping trapdoors by tickling the Skeleton Organ, this collectible ensures the legacy of The Goonies by no means says die.

The building set options 12 minifigures, together with Mikey, Information, Mouth, Chunk, Mama Fratelli, Andy, and Willy, in addition to hidden skeletons and different props. Every character carries their iconic equipment, like Information’s utility belt, Mouth’s hairbrush, and Sloth’s pirate hat. 

“In designing this set, I revisited my childhood recollections — rising up within the 80s, enjoying with LEGO Pirates units and watching The Goonies,” stated Ntezes. “Combining nostalgia, fantasy, and creativity, I wished to construct one thing that supplied each playability and show worth. The ultimate design merges the legendary Inferno with the cave system and booby traps, capturing the spirit of journey that made the movie so unforgettable.”

To have fun the set’s maiden voyage, the LEGO Group teamed up with Oscar-winning actor Ke Huy Quan, recognized across the Goon Docks because the gadget mastermind Information. Within the mini-film, Quan reprises his function as he guides followers across the mannequin ship, showcasing the hidden booby traps and sharing his favourite behind-the-scenes recollections. As an additional treasure, followers who buy the LEGO Concepts The Goonies set from Nov. 1-7 will even obtain a free present — The Walshes’ Attic. This 179-piece scene recreates the second Willy discovers the treasure map, full with Irving and Irene Walsh minifigures and the pirate portray Mouth sticks his tongue by way of.
